This event group covers prediction markets on the outcome of the first 5 innings of an MLB game between the Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles. Markets resolve based on which team is ahead, or if the game is tied, after exactly 5 complete innings have been played.
In the upcoming MLB game between the Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles, scheduled for July 11 at 7:05 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Kansas City Royals" if the Kansas City Royals is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. This market will resolve to "Baltimore Orioles" if the Baltimore Orioles is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. If the game is tied at the conclusion of the 5th inning, this market will resolve to "Draw". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the 5th inning has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. To know when a postponed game will be played, please check the home team's schedule on MLB.com for the listed team and look for the game described as a makeup game. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.
This event consists of three separate markets determining the outcome after the first five innings of the game. The three possible outcomes are: Kansas City wins, Baltimore wins, or the teams tie. If the score at the end of the first five innings is tied, the Tie market resolves to Yes and both team markets resolve to No. If the score is not tied, the market corresponding to the leading team resolves to Yes and the other markets resolve to No. The game is scheduled for July 10, 2026 at 7:05 PM EDT. If the game is postponed or delayed, all markets remain open and will close after the rescheduled game concludes, within two days of the original scheduled date.
Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes using different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like those on Polymarket and Kalshi rely on trader consensus—buy and sell pressure from participants with real money at stake. Prediction market prices often reflect sharper, more granular information because traders can update positions continuously. However, sportsbooks may offer tighter spreads and faster settlement. For this market, comparing the two venues can reveal where informed traders see value relative to conventional betting lines.
Lineup announcements, bullpen availability, and starting pitcher health updates can shift trader sentiment significantly. Weather conditions at game time—wind speed, temperature, and humidity—affect ball carry and scoring potential in the early innings. Recent offensive and defensive trends for both teams, especially their first-inning performance patterns, influence positioning. Injury reports released close to first pitch may trigger sharp repricing. Additionally, any changes to umpire assignments or field conditions reported just before or during the game can prompt last-minute adjustments. Traders monitoring these catalysts often gain an edge in timing their entries and exits.
