Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they operate under different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader belief and real-money commitment. Analysts and betting syndicates frequently monitor both venues to identify mispricings. For this market, comparing the current prediction market price to major sportsbook lines on Kane and Mbappé's World Cup goal totals can reveal whether one venue undervalues or overvalues either player's scoring potential relative to the other.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the marginal probability assigned by the last matched trade, with bid-ask spreads tightening as liquidity increases. Traders can enter limit or market orders to position themselves on whether Kane or Mbappé will finish as the higher goal scorer. As new information emerges—injuries, form, team composition—the price adjusts dynamically to incorporate updated expectations.

Several catalysts could shift odds significantly before Jul 20, 2026. Injuries to either player or their key teammates would alter scoring opportunity expectations. International friendlies and qualifying matches provide form updates and tactical insights into how each striker is deployed. Transfer moves, managerial changes, or squad composition announcements for their national teams can reshape offensive strategy. Media reports on fitness, confidence, or head-to-head records also influence trader sentiment. Additionally, early World Cup group-stage performance—goal-scoring patterns, playing time, and team success—will be the strongest real-time signal driving final market repricing.
