Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader consensus. Sportsbooks may adjust lines faster to manage liability, whereas prediction markets can lag if fewer traders are actively pricing the outcome. Both venues offer valuable signals, but prediction markets tend to aggregate dispersed information efficiently when liquidity is present, making them useful for comparing against bookmaker consensus on the second-half result.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability reflects the aggregate of all open positions and recent trades. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome falls, creating a continuous price discovery mechanism. This dynamic pricing means the odds you see represent real-time market belief about which team will win the second half, updated with every trade executed on the platform.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the match between Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC and Gangwon FC concludes and the second-half result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals in the second half only; the first half and any extra time are excluded. Resolution occurs after official match records are published and confirmed, ensuring accuracy before payouts are finalized on the platform.
Team news such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff can shift trader sentiment significantly. Early match momentum—goals scored in the first half, red cards, or tactical adjustments—often influences second-half expectations as traders reassess probabilities. Weather conditions, referee decisions, and substitution patterns during the match itself may also trigger repricing. Additionally, any official updates from the league or teams regarding match status could impact confidence in the outcome, causing sharp moves in this market as traders react to new information.
