Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and operate under different constraints. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money incentives to forecast accurately. Prediction markets typically reflect longer-term sentiment and can adjust more fluidly as new information emerges, whereas sportsbooks may lag or apply wider margins. For this match's second-half result, comparing the implied probabilities on this market to major sportsbook lines can reveal where traders and bookmakers disagree on the true likelihood of each outcome.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism, where each outcome's price reflects the ratio of liquidity allocated to it. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As traders buy and sell shares corresponding to a home win, away win, or draw in the second half, the prices adjust continuously to balance supply and demand. Higher prices indicate greater trader confidence in that outcome. The market remains open until resolution, allowing participants to enter or exit positions as new information about team form, injuries, or tactical adjustments becomes available.
This market resolves around Jul 18, 2026, once the Jeju SK FC versus Pohang Steelers FC match concludes and the second-half result is verified against credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the official final score recorded during the second half only, independent of the first-half result. Winning positions depend on whether the match ends in a home victory, away victory, or draw during that period. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout once the result is confirmed and the market settles.
Several factors may shift odds before Jul 18, 2026. Team news—such as injuries to key players, lineup announcements, or tactical changes—often triggers repricing. Recent form, head-to-head records, and home-field advantage assessments influence trader positioning. Weather conditions and pitch quality reported closer to kickoff can also matter. As the match date approaches, increased media coverage and expert commentary may sway sentiment. During the first half, live updates on team performance, early goals, or red cards will likely cause sharp price movements, since traders will adjust their second-half forecasts based on how the match unfolds.
