Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margin, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders who profit or lose based on accuracy. Prediction markets typically incorporate real-time information and can adjust faster than traditional sportsbooks, especially during live events. However, sportsbook odds benefit from professional oddsmakers and sharp action. Comparing the two can reveal value: if this market's implied probability differs meaningfully from a sportsbook's line, it may signal an opportunity or highlight where one venue is slower to react to new information.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader activity into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, and the price of each share reflects the collective belief in that outcome's likelihood. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcomes fall. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as volume increases, making execution more efficient. This continuous repricing ensures the market stays responsive to new information and trader conviction throughout the event window.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the official final score or result recorded for the second half only, independent of the first half. Resolution occurs after the match ends and the result is confirmed through standard sports data sources. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. The exact timing may shift slightly if the match is delayed or rescheduled.
Several factors can shift trader sentiment and move prices in this market. Team lineups and injury announcements before kickoff often trigger sharp repricing. Early second-half momentum, goals, red cards, or tactical shifts during play generate rapid trading activity as traders reassess probabilities in real time. Weather conditions, crowd energy, and referee decisions can also influence outcomes and trader conviction. Major injuries or unexpected substitutions mid-match typically spark volume spikes. As the second half progresses, the market will tighten around the most likely outcome, with late-game developments driving final price adjustments before resolution.
