Sportsbooks incorporate their own margins and may be influenced by promotional considerations, while this market is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders. Discrepancies can arise from differing information sources, risk assessments, or simply variations in opinion. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one team, but this market shows a more balanced probability, it could indicate traders believe the sportsbook is undervaluing the other team’s chances of winning.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence.
