This market tracks the outcome of the second set in the professional tennis match between Jasmine Paolini and Maria Sakkari at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 32 on July 4. One player will win the set by reaching 6 games with a 2-game lead, or by winning a tiebreaker.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 2 of the Paolini vs Sakkari match at 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 32. If the match does not commence due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation before play begins, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate beliefs from traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market aggregates trader conviction about the Set 2 result, which may differ from sportsbook pricing due to timing, information asymmetries, or varying risk appetites. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs and highlight potential value opportunities for informed bettors.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by active traders; as new information emerges or sentiment shifts, bids and asks adjust accordingly. Traders can enter limit or market orders to establish positions, and the spread between buy and sell prices tightens as liquidity increases. This dynamic pricing model ensures the market continuously reflects real-time expectations about the Set 2 winner.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the Paolini vs Sakkari match concludes and the Set 2 result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the second set according to official match records. Resolution occurs automatically after the event is confirmed, and traders' positions settle based on the verified result. Early closure or postponement would be handled according to Kalshi's standard event rules.
Several factors could shift odds before this market resolves. Player form and recent performance trends influence trader expectations, as do injury reports or pre-match statements. Court conditions, weather, and serve patterns during Set 1 provide real-time data that traders incorporate immediately. Head-to-head history and tactical adjustments between sets also drive repricing. News about player fitness, mental state, or match momentum generates rapid position adjustments. Large trades by informed participants can trigger cascading moves as other traders react to perceived shifts in probability.
