This market covers the second half goal differential of the Japan vs Sweden FIFA World Cup match scheduled for June 25, 2026. Bettors predict which team will win the second half by more than 1.5 goals.
Resolution is determined by the goal differential during the second half of the Japan vs Sweden FIFA World Cup match originally scheduled for June 25, 2026. Only goals scored after the 45-minute mark count toward this calculation. The market resolves to Yes if Japan scores more than 1.5 goals ahead of Sweden, or if Sweden scores more than 1.5 goals ahead of Japan. If the game is cancelled or rescheduled more than two weeks from the original date, the market resolves to a fair price.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money commitments from traders rather than expert opinion alone. On platforms like Kalshi, the odds aggregate distributed information from many participants with direct financial incentives to forecast accurately. Analysts may rely on historical models or qualitative judgment, while prediction markets incorporate breaking news, injury reports, and shifting public sentiment in real time. Comparing this market's odds to published expert predictions can reveal where consensus breaks down and highlight potential value opportunities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers in real time. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The spread between the highest bid and lowest ask reflects the current market consensus, with prices updating as new trades execute. Traders can place limit or market orders to enter or exit positions, and the platform matches them against the existing book. Liquidity and trading volume directly influence how tight the spread remains and how quickly prices adjust to new information.
This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once the event concludes and the outcome is verifiable from credible public sources. The resolution hinges on the final second-half spread result, confirmed through official match records and reporting. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell positions as odds shift. After resolution, payouts are distributed according to the confirmed outcome, and the market closes to further trading.
Several catalysts could shift odds significantly before this market resolves. Team news—such as injury announcements, lineup changes, or tactical adjustments—often triggers sharp repricing. Pre-match analysis from credible sports commentators and updated betting consensus can sway sentiment. Weather conditions, travel delays, or other logistical factors affecting either team may also influence trader positioning. As the event date approaches, accumulating data on form, head-to-head records, and recent performance typically narrows uncertainty and tightens the spread.
