During the 2026 Men's FIFA World Cup, this event concerns which player will score the first goal for Japan (excluding own goals).
The market resolves Yes for whichever Japanese player scores the first legitimate goal during the 2026 Men's FIFA World Cup. Own goals are excluded from consideration; if the first goal credited to Japan is an own goal, resolution is based on the next goal scored by a Japanese player that is not an own goal. Goals scored during regulation time, stoppage time, and extra time all count toward this market. Goals scored during penalty shootouts do not count. All players who do not score the first qualifying goal resolve to No, regardless of whether they participated in any match. If no Japanese player scores a goal throughout the tournament, the No Goalscorer outcome resolves Yes. Players are evaluated only on whether they score the first qualifying goal; participation in matches is irrelevant to resolution for non-first-goalscorers.
Prediction market odds on Kalshi reflect real-money consensus from traders betting on Japan's first goalscorer, while analyst forecasts typically rely on statistical models, team form, and historical performance data. Comparing Kalshi implied probabilities to expert consensus can reveal whether the crowd is pricing in information analysts have not yet updated, helping you spot potential edges before Jul 20, 2026.
