This market tracks the winner of the second set in the Wimbledon Men's Singles Quarterfinal match between Jannik Sinner and Jan-Lennard Struff on July 7, 2026. The set winner is determined by standard professional tennis scoring rules.
The market resolves to Yes for whichever player wins set 2 of the match. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader supply and demand. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more efficient pricing because traders have direct financial exposure to accuracy. However, sportsbooks may move faster on breaking news or injury updates. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from professional oddsmaking.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers for contracts representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the probability traders assign to that player winning Set 2, ranging from near-zero to near-100 cents. As new trades execute, prices adjust instantly to match supply and demand, ensuring the market stays responsive to incoming information and trader conviction.
This market resolves around Jul 7, 2026, once the Sinner vs Struff match is complete and Set 2's winner is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by official match records and confirmed through standard tennis reporting channels. Until that point, prices will fluctuate based on live match developments, player performance, and trader reassessment of each outcome's likelihood.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before resolution. Early set performance—breaks of serve, momentum swings, and tactical adjustments—will influence trader expectations in real time. Player fitness, court conditions, and match context (such as whether Set 1 was competitive or one-sided) all feed into revised probabilities. Unexpected momentum changes, injury concerns, or visible fatigue can trigger sharp repricing. Live match commentary and score updates will be the primary catalysts driving trading activity and price movement.
