This set of markets tracks how many points each team will score in an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point threshold for a team, determining whether they exceed that mark during the match.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals for each team in the James Madison vs San Diego State college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. If San Diego State or James Madison scores above the specified threshold in their respective markets, those markets resolve to Yes; otherwise, they resolve to No. For games postponed but starting within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If a game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all affected markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any official affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit for themselves. This market, however, represents the collective wisdom of traders and aims to reflect the true probability of each outcome. While sportsbooks may initially set lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, this market evolves as more information becomes available and more people participate. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions or access to unique information, and can sometimes present arbitrage opportunities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total outcomes. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. Traders set the odds based on their own analysis and expectations, and the market price adjusts dynamically with each trade. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more a particular outcome is bought, the higher its price rises, and vice versa, creating a self-regulating system that reflects the collective forecast of the crowd.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final team totals for both James Madison and San Diego State are verifiable from credible public reporting. The official statistics from the game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will reflect the actual team totals achieved during the game, and contracts corresponding to the correct totals will pay out according to their price at resolution. Traders should monitor official sources for the final results to understand the outcome of this market.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather forecasts could shift trader sentiment and impact prices. Unexpected performance in other games leading up to this matchup might also cause adjustments. Furthermore, significant betting activity – a sudden surge in volume – could indicate new information or a change in market expectations. Monitoring these signals and staying informed about the teams involved will be crucial for understanding potential market movements.
