This market tracks the winner of the third set in the professional tennis match between Jakub Mensik and Grigor Dimitrov at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64 on July 2. The market resolves based on which player wins set 3 during the match.
The market resolves to Yes if either Jakub Mensik or Grigor Dimitrov wins set 3 in their 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64 match. If the match does not occur before it starts due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders risking real capital on their beliefs. Prediction markets typically incorporate breaking news and live match dynamics faster than traditional sportsbooks adjust their lines. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd on each venue sees value, though neither is inherently more accurate—each reflects its own market's collective judgment about the set outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the aggregate willingness of buyers and sellers to transact at that level, with the implied probability derived from the current best bid and ask. As new trades execute, prices adjust in real time. This dynamic pricing ensures the market continuously incorporates fresh information about player performance, injuries, or other factors influencing the third set.
This market resolves around Jul 2, 2026, once the Mensik vs Dimitrov match concludes and the third set result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to official tournament records or reliable sports data providers. Until that point, prices may fluctuate based on live match developments, player momentum, and trader sentiment. Early resolution is possible if the match is abandoned or the set is not played, in which case the platform will communicate any special settlement rules.
Several factors could shift prices before resolution. Live match performance—such as one player breaking serve, winning consecutive games, or showing fatigue—typically triggers sharp moves. Injury announcements or visible physical distress during the first or second set can reshape expectations for the third. Weather changes, court conditions, or crowd dynamics may also influence trader positioning. News about player form, recent tournament results, or head-to-head history can move odds before the match begins. Close scores in earlier sets often tighten the market, while dominant performances widen it.
