This market determines the winner of the second set in the professional tennis match between Iva Jovic and Karolina Pliskova at the 2026 WTA Nottingham tournament Round of 32 on June 15.
The market resolves Yes for whichever player wins set 2 of the match. If the match does not occur before it starts due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at Fair Market Price as determined by the Exchange.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders risking real capital on their beliefs about the outcome. Prediction markets typically incorporate real-time information and can shift rapidly as new data emerges, whereas sportsbooks adjust more cautiously to manage liability. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd's genuine conviction differs from bookmaker pricing, offering insight into which side may be undervalued.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective assessment of all active traders; as new information surfaces or match momentum shifts, participants adjust their orders, and the price updates in real time. Shares are fractional and range from $0 to $1, with the sum of all outcome prices equaling $1. This structure ensures that the market price always embeds the latest consensus probability among active participants.
This market resolves around Jun 15, 2026, once the second set of the Jovic vs Pliskova match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the majority of games in that set according to official match records. Resolution occurs shortly after the set ends, assuming no disputes or delays in official confirmation. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive the full $1 payout per share, while losing shares expire worthless.
Several factors can shift odds before the match concludes. Player form and recent performance trends influence expectations; injury reports or last-minute lineup changes can trigger sharp repricing. During the first set, momentum and court conditions become visible, affecting predictions for the second set. Betting activity on external sportsbooks may signal new information that traders incorporate. Weather, surface conditions, and head-to-head historical matchups also matter. Real-time match developments—breaks of serve, set pace, and tactical adjustments—create continuous opportunities for traders to update their positions as the event unfolds.
