Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook lines due to community-driven pricing and the inclusion of broader outcome sets. While sportsbooks may set fixed lines based on analytical models, this market reflects real-time trader sentiment and can incorporate nuances like in-game dynamics or player form. The gap between the two can widen if Polymarket traders react to new information faster than sportsbook adjustments.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders manually set prices through buying and selling shares, which determines the implied probability for each outcome. The current top outcome reflects the highest traded price, and volume of $1,151 over the last 24 hours shows how active the market is. Prices adjust continuously as new bets are placed, capturing the collective view of Polymarket participants.
