Prediction market odds in this market often differ from traditional sportsbook lines due to the decentralized nature of trading. While sportsbooks may set their lines based on analytics and risk management, prediction markets let participants bet directly on their beliefs, which can lead to sharper or more volatile pricing. Traders should compare both sources to spot potential value, as each reflects different dynamics and participant behavior.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders collectively set the odds by placing bets for or against each possible outcome. The current implied probability reflects the balance of buy and sell orders for each outcome. As more participants trade, the price adjusts to match supply and demand, capturing the community’s evolving view of who is likely to win the match.
