Prediction market odds in this market often differ from traditional sportsbook lines due to the decentralized nature of trader-driven pricing. While sportsbooks may set their lines based on broader analytics and betting volumes, prediction markets let participants bet directly on their insights. This can lead to sharper or more volatile pricing, especially as new information emerges about player form or conditions.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders collectively set the odds through their bets, which determines the current implied probability for each outcome. The top outcome’s chance reflects the aggregate view of all participants, updated continuously as new trades occur. This mechanism allows rapid adjustment to news, such as injuries or weather updates, without external influence.
