Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader belief and financial incentive to forecast accurately. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where professional bettors and casual traders disagree on the likely winner, sometimes highlighting value or consensus gaps worth monitoring.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares that represent each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective probability estimate—higher prices mean the market views that outcome as more likely. As new information emerges or trading volume shifts, prices adjust in real time, allowing you to enter or exit positions at any moment before the match concludes.

Player form, recent match results, head-to-head history, and court surface conditions are key factors that typically influence tennis prediction markets. Injury announcements, withdrawal news, or shifts in player ranking could trigger sharp price moves. Media coverage, expert commentary, and betting action from professional traders may also shift odds as the match date approaches. Weather conditions at the venue and last-minute lineup changes are additional catalysts that could reshape trader expectations before the event begins.
