In this market, the crowd-sourced pricing mechanism can reflect sharper or more nuanced probabilities, especially as new information emerges. Traders react quickly to news, injuries, or weather conditions, which might not be fully priced into sportsbook odds for a period. Comparing both can provide a broader perspective on expected outcomes and potential value opportunities.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now.
