Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, incorporating their own margins. Prediction markets like this one reflect the collective belief of traders who have real financial incentive to price outcomes accurately. Comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbook lines can reveal where professional oddsmakers and the broader trading community disagree, potentially highlighting value or consensus shifts in real time.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of shares held in the liquidity pool, so larger trades move the odds more dramatically than smaller ones. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, and the market price updates continuously. This mechanism ensures that the odds you see represent the real-time consensus valuation among active participants.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting.
