Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook lines due to community-driven pricing and unique betting mechanics. In this market, traders directly assess the likelihood of each outcome, which can lead to sharper or more volatile prices compared to aggregated sportsbook odds. Factors like recent form, surface performance, and betting volume influence the prediction market price, while sportsbooks incorporate broader models and risk management. Comparing both can reveal where public sentiment diverges from expert lines.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders set the odds through buying and selling shares of each possible outcome. As new information emerges — such as player injuries or weather updates — the market price can shift rapidly.
