Prediction market odds in this market often differ from traditional sportsbook lines due to the decentralized nature of trading. While sportsbooks may set their lines based on analytical models and risk management, prediction markets let traders collectively price the outcome based on their own research and expectations. This can lead to unique insights or divergent pricing, especially as new information emerges.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders actively set the price through buying and selling shares of each possible outcome. The current top outcome reflects the aggregate belief of participants, with liquidity and volume influencing how quickly prices adjust.
