Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect trader sentiment and can adjust more quickly to new information. In this market, the pricing may appear more volatile or skewed compared to sportsbook odds, which are set by professional oddsmakers and may incorporate additional factors like injury reports or weather conditions. Traders should compare both sources to identify potential value or divergence in expectations.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders collectively set the odds by placing bets, which determines the current implied probability for each outcome. The top outcome’s chance is reflected in a percentage that updates continuously based on buying and selling activity. This decentralized pricing mechanism allows rapid adjustments as new information emerges, capturing the real-time consensus of participants on Polymarket.
