Prediction market odds often reflect a more nuanced, crowd-sourced view of probabilities compared to traditional sportsbook lines. In this market, the decentralized nature of Polymarket allows for rapid adjustments based on trader activity, whereas sportsbooks may incorporate broader factors or set fixed lines earlier. Traders should compare both to identify potential value gaps, as prediction markets can react faster to new information or shifts in sentiment.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders manually set prices through buying and selling contracts, which determines the current implied probability.
