Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit on accurate forecasts. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper or earlier signals than traditional sportsbooks, especially when informed traders spot value. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs and highlight potential opportunities.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of all participants: higher prices mean stronger conviction that outcome will occur, while lower prices suggest lower perceived probability. As new match information surfaces or trader sentiment shifts, prices adjust in real time, ensuring the market continuously reprices risk and opportunity.

Several factors can shift odds before the match takes place. Recent player form, head-to-head records, court surface preference, injury reports, and ranking changes all influence trader expectations. News about either player's fitness, tournament draw position, or recent tournament results can trigger sharp price moves.
