Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect decentralized trader sentiment rather than bookmaker risk management. Sportsbooks adjust lines to balance liability; prediction markets reward accurate forecasters directly. For the Ogescu–Iancu ITF Focsani match, comparing Polymarket prices to major sportsbooks can reveal where informed traders see value. Prediction markets typically react faster to breaking news about player injuries or withdrawals, while sportsbooks may lag due to manual line-setting. Both venues offer useful signals, but they operate under different incentive structures.
