Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus is strongest or where specialized traders see value.

Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final point, pending confirmation from the tournament organizers.

Several factors could shift odds before the match begins. Recent tournament performance, head-to-head records, and player rankings influence trader expectations. Court surface conditions, weather forecasts, and injury reports can trigger sharp repricing if they favor one competitor. News about player form, coaching changes, or mental state may also sway the market. Closer to match time, warm-up results and betting syndicate activity often drive final adjustments as the event becomes more certain and traders lock in positions.
