Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the Larue vs Lokoli tennis match displays real-time odds and price movements as traders buy and sell shares tied to the match outcome. The interface shows the current probability implied by market activity, along with historical price data that reflects how sentiment has shifted since the market opened. Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, incorporating a built-in margin. Prediction markets, by contrast, aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who profit by forecasting accurately, creating incentives for information discovery. This market may reflect different probabilities than traditional sportsbooks because traders here are directly rewarded for precision. Comparing the two can reveal where professional oddsmakers and decentralized forecasters disagree on the likely outcome.

On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on one possible result, and the price reflects the aggregate probability assigned by all active traders. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. The spread between bid and ask prices indicates liquidity and the cost of entering or exiting a position. Higher trading volume typically narrows spreads and makes prices more reliable.

This market resolves around Jul 7, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official match result—either a win for Louis Larue or a win for Laurent Lokoli. Resolution depends on the match being completed and the winner being documented by recognized tennis authorities or major sports news outlets. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new information and match developments influence their forecasts.

Several factors could shift trader positioning before the match concludes. Recent performance data, head-to-head records, and player rankings may influence expectations as traders reassess the matchup. Court conditions, weather, and player fitness or injury updates closer to the event date could trigger significant repricing. News about either player's recent form or tournament performance will likely attract trading activity. Late-breaking developments such as lineup changes or unexpected player statements may also prompt rapid market movement as traders incorporate fresh information into their probability estimates.
