Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which are set by professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like public betting patterns and risk management into their pricing, while this market relies on individuals directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, analytical approaches, or simply varying opinions on the probabilities involved in the Istanbul 3 doubles match. It's common to see prediction markets offer different probabilities than traditional betting venues.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the Istanbul 3 doubles match. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand; if more traders believe a particular outcome is likely, they will buy shares, driving up the price and increasing the implied probability. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price and decreases the probability. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment.
