This market tracks the outcome of the first set in the professional tennis match between Irina-Camelia Begu and Katie Swan at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128 on June 30. The winner of set 1 will determine the market resolution.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 1 in the Irina-Camelia Begu vs Katie Swan match at 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128. If the match does not occur before it starts due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate beliefs from traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market may show higher or lower implied probabilities than traditional sports betting sites, depending on which venue's participants have stronger conviction. Comparing the two can reveal where informed traders see value relative to conventional oddsmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief of active traders about the probability of that player winning Set 1. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their bids and asks, moving the price up or down. The market price you see at any moment represents the marginal trader's assessment of the event's likelihood.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, once the Begu vs Swan match concludes and the Set 1 winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the first set according to official match records. No further action is required from you; resolution happens automatically once the event result is confirmed and the platform processes the payout.
Several factors could shift odds before the match begins. Recent player form, head-to-head records, and surface preference (clay, grass, hard court) often influence trader positioning. Injury reports or withdrawal announcements can trigger sharp moves. Tournament seeding, player ranking changes, and pre-match commentary from analysts may also sway sentiment. Weather conditions announced closer to match time and late betting action from sharp bettors can create volatility. Watch for any news affecting either player's fitness or mental readiness.
