Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning with—but sometimes diverging from—sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, incorporating factors like team statistics and injuries. This market, however, allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to odds that more accurately forecast the actual result as new information becomes available. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information and the incentives of participants; sportsbooks aim to profit, while prediction market traders aim to correctly predict the outcome.

Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also impact the spread. Public sentiment, reflected in betting trends and expert analysis, can also play a role. Finally, any late-breaking news related to team morale or coaching decisions could shift the market’s assessment of the likely outcome.
