Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by the collective predictions of traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can buy contracts, driving up the price and potentially creating a discrepancy. This can sometimes lead to more accurate predictions than those offered by sportsbooks, though not always.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about which team will score first. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts accordingly, providing a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team taking the early lead. The current market price indicates the collective expectation of the traders.

This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Inter Toronto vs. Vancouver match. Any goals scored during regular play, extra time, or penalty shootouts will be considered in determining the winner. The result will be determined by official match data, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome for this market.

Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Inter Toronto or Vancouver would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in team form, tactical announcements from the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also influence trader behavior. Unexpected lineup changes announced shortly before kickoff are also likely to move this market, as traders react to the altered probabilities of each team scoring first.
