Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms and risk models. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage liability, while prediction markets derive prices from trader consensus and real-time supply and demand. This market aggregates views from many independent traders, which can reveal information gaps or inefficiencies compared to traditional sportsbook lines. Comparing the two can highlight where the crowd sees value or where conventional oddsmakers may be mispricing the doubles matchup.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that balances buy and sell orders continuously. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective assessment of all active traders, with shares trading between 0 and 1 (representing 0% to 100% implied probability). As new information emerges or trading activity shifts, prices adjust in real time. This mechanism ensures transparent, decentralized pricing without a central operator setting the odds.
This market resolves around Jun 19, 2026, once the doubles match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official result of the Fruhvirtova/Korneeva versus Christie/Silva match at Ilkley. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. Resolution timing depends on match completion and official confirmation.
Several factors could shift prices in this market before resolution. Player injuries, withdrawals, or late lineup changes would immediately impact odds. Recent form, head-to-head records, and court surface performance are key catalysts that traders monitor. Weather conditions on match day, player fatigue from prior rounds, and betting syndicate activity can also drive volatility. News about player fitness or unexpected roster adjustments typically triggers sharp repricing as the event date approaches.
