This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between West Indies and Scotland scheduled for 2026-06-18 in ICC T20 World Cup, Women. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to West Indies will be considered correct if West Indies is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Scotland will be considered correct if Scotland is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect real-time trader consensus rather than fixed bookmaker margins. On this market, odds adjust continuously as new information emerges, whereas sportsbooks may lag or apply wider spreads. Traders betting on the toss outcome here are incentivized to price it accurately, since their capital is at stake; this dynamic pricing can sometimes offer sharper odds than conventional betting venues, though liquidity and individual risk appetite also play a role.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker mechanism, where the price of each outcome reflects the ratio of liquidity pools backing it. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy or sell shares in one outcome, the price adjusts algorithmically to maintain balance. This means the toss market price is determined entirely by supply and demand from the trading community, with no fixed bookmaker involved, resulting in prices that can shift rapidly in response to new developments or shifts in trader conviction.
This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, once the West Indies versus Scotland match toss has been conducted and verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public reporting of the official toss result. Until that moment, traders can continue to buy and sell shares based on their expectations, and the market price will reflect the collective probability estimate of the trading community right up until resolution.
Several factors may shift trader sentiment before resolution. Weather forecasts or pitch reports could influence perceptions of which captain might prefer to bat or field first, indirectly affecting toss outcome expectations. Team news, injury updates, or tactical announcements may also sway traders if they believe either captain has a strategic preference tied to conditions. Additionally, any historical data or commentary from analysts about the captains' toss-winning records could prompt repricing. Finally, as match day draws closer, late-breaking information or social media signals may trigger final positioning adjustments.
