This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between West Indies and Ireland scheduled for 2026-06-27 in ICC T20 World Cup, Women. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to West Indies will be considered correct if West Indies is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Ireland will be considered correct if Ireland is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different audiences and operate under different constraints. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money incentives to forecast accurately. Sportsbooks may shade odds toward recreational bettors, whereas prediction markets reward precision. For a toss outcome, both venues should converge toward fair value over time, but prediction markets can sometimes react faster to late-breaking information or reflect sharper trader conviction when liquidity is deep.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome—West Indies or Ireland—and the cumulative volume on each side determines the implied probability displayed to the next trader. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome falls. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market reflects live consensus without manual intervention, and slippage increases with order size, incentivizing smaller, more frequent trades.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the toss result is confirmed and verifiable from credible public reporting of the match. The outcome is binary: either West Indies or Ireland wins the coin toss. Resolution occurs shortly after the official toss is conducted and announced by match officials. Traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. The timing is tight because the toss happens immediately before play begins, so resolution typically follows within hours of the match start.
In the final hours before the toss, late-arriving information about team conditions, weather, or pitch reports can shift trader sentiment, though the toss itself is random. Unexpected roster changes or injury announcements might alter perceived team strength and indirectly influence how traders weight each outcome. Media commentary and expert predictions can also sway retail traders. However, since a coin toss is inherently unpredictable, this market is less sensitive to fundamental catalysts than match-outcome markets. Most price movement reflects noise trading, position squaring, or marginal shifts in crowd psychology rather than genuine new information.
