This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between South Africa and Pakistan scheduled for 2026-06-17 in ICC T20 World Cup, Women. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to South Africa will be considered correct if South Africa is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Pakistan will be considered correct if Pakistan is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders themselves—meaning odds shift based on real-time supply and demand. For a toss prediction, sportsbooks may quote fixed or slow-moving lines, whereas this market adjusts continuously as new information or trader conviction emerges. Direct comparison requires checking both venues simultaneously, but prediction markets typically offer tighter spreads and faster price discovery.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) model where traders buy and sell outcome shares directly against a liquidity pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome—such as South Africa or Pakistan winning the toss—adjusts algorithmically based on the ratio of shares in the pool, meaning larger trades move the odds more sharply than smaller ones. This mechanism ensures continuous pricing and allows traders to enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, with all pricing transparent and deterministic.
This market resolves around Jun 24, 2026, once the toss outcome from the South Africa vs Pakistan match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning outcome is determined by the official result announced at the match venue and confirmed through standard sports media sources. Until that moment, traders can continue to buy and sell shares, and the market price will reflect evolving expectations about the toss result.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before it resolves. Team news—such as injury updates, lineup changes, or captain availability—may influence trader sentiment about momentum or confidence. Weather forecasts closer to match day can affect toss strategy perceptions. Social media sentiment, expert commentary, and betting patterns on related markets (like match outcome or first-innings runs) may also ripple into toss pricing. Any official announcements from the ICC or the teams themselves could trigger sharp repricing as new information reaches traders.
