PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's match winner market contains a logical contradiction: both a South Africa win and a Pakistan win are specified to resolve to Yes, making the market fundamentally unresolvable. Polymarket's match winner logic is coherent and includes proper tie-break and cancellation protocols.Hero tip: Do not trade the Kalshi match winner market. Use Polymarket for match winner exposure. The Polymarket toss and completion markets are safe to trade as they have consistent, well-defined logic across both platforms.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Match winner market states both outcomes resolve Yes: 'If South Africa wins...resolves to Yes' and 'If Pakistan wins...resolves to Yes'. This is logically impossible for a binary market and makes resolution indeterminate.
  • Polymarket: Match winner resolves to the finalized match result per ESPN Cricinfo. Tie-breaks (Super Over) determine winner if available; if no tiebreak and match tied, resolves 50-50. Postponements keep market open; permanent cancellation or no result resolves 50-50. All on-field rulings (DLS, forfeit, etc.) treated as ordinary wins.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the cricket match between South Africa and Pakistan scheduled for June 17 2026 in ICC T20 World Cup, Women. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

Resolution is based on the official match result declared by the governing body. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. If a forfeit, disqualification, or concession occurs before the match begins, all markets resolve to $0.50. If such an event occurs after play has begun and an official winner is declared, markets resolve based on that result. If play begins but insufficient play occurs for an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price events differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market reflects what thousands of independent traders believe will happen, often incorporating real-time information faster than traditional books adjust lines. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbook lines can reveal where consensus diverges, signaling potential value or consensus shifts in how the match is perceived.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Platform differences in liquidity, user base composition, and fee structures can cause price divergence even when tracking the same event. Polymarket and Kalshi may attract traders with different risk tolerances and information sets, leading to temporary mispricing. Arbitrage traders typically exploit these gaps, but friction costs and settlement timing differences can prevent instant convergence. Monitoring both platforms helps you identify whether price gaps reflect genuine disagreement or temporary inefficiency.

Key catalysts include team roster announcements, injury updates to star players, recent form and head-to-head records, and weather conditions at the venue. Pre-match commentary from analysts and betting syndicates can shift trader positioning significantly. Live match developments—early wickets, batting momentum, or tactical shifts—typically trigger sharp repricing as new information arrives. Major upsets in earlier tournament matches may also reshape expectations for this fixture, causing traders to reassess probabilities and adjust positions accordingly.
