Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and regulatory frameworks. Kalshi operates under CFTC oversight in the US and may draw institutional or compliance-conscious participants, while Polymarket operates globally with a broader retail base. Order flow timing, funding availability, and platform-specific incentives can cause temporary price gaps. Additionally, differences in market depth and settlement rule interpretation may lead one platform to price the South Africa versus Bangladesh outcome more bullishly than the other, creating arbitrage opportunities for alert traders.
Team composition changes, injury announcements, and recent batting form in prior World Cup matches will shift trader sentiment before the match begins. Weather forecasts favoring or hindering aggressive batting can trigger repricing. Once play starts, early overs that feature explosive hitting or cautious accumulation will swing odds in real time. Pitch conditions, fielding setup, and bowler performance will also influence how traders expect each side to approach six-hitting. Late-stage momentum swings during the match itself typically generate the largest price movements as live data replaces pre-match speculation.
