PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's match winner market contains a logical contradiction: it specifies that both India winning and Netherlands winning resolve to Yes, which is impossible in a binary market structure. This makes the market fundamentally unresolvable.Hero tip: Avoid trading the Kalshi match winner market. Use Polymarket's match winner market instead, which has clear, unambiguous binary logic (India win vs Netherlands win) with comprehensive edge-case handling. Contact Kalshi support to clarify whether the market definition is a documentation error.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Match winner resolves based on official ESPN Cricinfo result. Binary outcome: India wins or Netherlands wins. Comprehensive edge-case rules: DLS/DRS, Super Over, forfeit, and walkover all treated as ordinary wins. Ties with Super Over use tiebreak result; ties without Super Over resolve 50-50. Cancellations, abandonment, or no result resolve 50-50. Postponements keep market open until fixture completion.
  • Kalshi: Market definition states: 'If India wins...resolve to Yes' AND 'If Netherlands wins...resolve to Yes'. This is a logical contradiction — both outcomes cannot resolve to Yes in a binary market. The market is unresolvable as written.

Polymarket

This market refers to the cricket match between India and Netherlands scheduled for June 17 2026 in ICC T20 World Cup, Women. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

If the match ends with a decisive result, the winning team's market resolves to Yes. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. In case of forfeit, disqualification, or concession before the match begins, all markets resolve to $0.50. If such an event occurs after play has begun and the governing body declares an official winner, resolution follows that declared result. If play begins but insufficient play occurs to determine an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events differently. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin; prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous pricing. On this market, you're trading against other participants rather than a bookmaker, which can lead to sharper, less-padded odds during high-volume periods. However, sportsbooks often move faster on breaking news, while prediction markets may lag until traders react. Comparing both sources helps identify mispricings and informs your trading strategy.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures. Kalshi and Polymarket use distinct order-matching engines and may list slightly different outcome formulations—one focusing on match winner, the other on toss outcome. Regulatory frameworks also differ by jurisdiction, affecting which traders participate actively. These structural differences mean prices can diverge meaningfully, especially in lower-volume periods. Arbitrage opportunities occasionally emerge, rewarding traders who monitor both venues closely.

Key catalysts include team announcements on squad composition and playing XI, injury updates on star players, venue and weather forecasts, and head-to-head recent form. Toss outcome—if tracked separately—shifts match dynamics significantly. Live match events like early wickets, partnerships, and momentum swings drive intraday repricing. Pre-match media coverage and expert commentary also influence trader sentiment. Monitor official ICC communications and team social channels for roster changes or last-minute developments that could reshape implied probabilities before play begins.
