This market determines the winner of the third set in the professional tennis match between Hubert Hurkacz and Sebastian Ofner at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64 on July 1. The market resolves based on who wins the set, regardless of the overall match outcome.
The market resolves to Yes for whichever player wins set 3 of the match. If the match does not commence due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation before play begins, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who have real money at stake. This market's odds may move faster or slower than traditional sportsbooks depending on new information, betting patterns, or shifts in trader conviction. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion and professional oddsmakers disagree on the likelihood of Hurkacz or Ofner taking Set 3.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective willingness of buyers and sellers to trade at that level, with the implied probability derived directly from the current market price. As new information emerges or trader sentiment shifts, prices adjust in real time, allowing you to enter or exit positions at the prevailing rate without waiting for a centralized operator to reset odds.
This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once the match between Hurkacz and Ofner concludes and the Set 3 winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the third set according to official tournament records or verified sports reporting. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome will receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The resolution process is automated once the event result becomes publicly available and confirmed.
Several factors may shift odds before this market resolves. Player form and recent match results leading up to the event can influence trader expectations about Set 3 performance. Injury reports, court conditions, or weather updates may alter perceived advantage. Head-to-head historical data and surface-specific strengths often drive repricing as traders reassess likelihood. News about either player's fitness, mental state, or tactical adjustments can trigger rapid moves. Additionally, live match developments in Sets 1 and 2 will likely cause significant repricing as traders update their beliefs about momentum and fatigue entering the third set.
