This market determines the winner of the second set in the professional tennis match between Hubert Hurkacz and Sebastian Ofner at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64 on July 1. The market resolves based on who wins the set, regardless of the overall match outcome.
The market resolves to Yes for whichever player wins set 2 of the match. If the match does not commence due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation before play begins, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders wagering real money on their beliefs about outcomes. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more efficient pricing because traders face direct financial consequences for inaccuracy. However, sportsbooks may incorporate additional factors like injury reports or weather. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal whether one venue is pricing the Set 2 winner differently, signaling potential value.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief of all active traders about the likelihood of that outcome. As new information emerges—such as player form, court conditions, or early-match performance—traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market continuously incorporates fresh signals and remains responsive to changing expectations about who will win Set 2.
This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once the Hurkacz vs Ofner match is complete and the Set 2 result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the second set according to official tournament records or reliable sports data providers. Until that point, the market remains open for trading, allowing participants to adjust positions as the match unfolds and new information becomes available. Resolution is automatic once the event concludes and the result is confirmed.
Several factors could shift odds before Jul 1, 2026. Player injury announcements or withdrawal news would trigger sharp repricing. Recent tournament performance, head-to-head records, and court surface preference can influence trader sentiment. During the match itself, the outcome of Set 1 is a major catalyst—momentum and confidence in each player's form will likely drive significant trading volume and price swings. Weather conditions, umpire decisions, or unexpected tactical adjustments during play can also sway the market. Breaking news about either player's fitness or mental state may prompt rapid position changes as traders reassess probabilities.
