This market determines the exact final set score of the professional tennis match between Hubert Hurkacz and Sebastian Ofner at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64 on July 1. Bettors select the specific set-by-set outcome they believe will occur.
The market resolves to Yes for the outcome matching the final set score of the completed match. Possible outcomes include Hurkacz winning 3-0, 3-1, or 3-2, or Ofner winning 3-0, 3-1, or 3-2. If the match does not commence due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation before play begins, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market aggregates trader conviction about the exact score, which may differ from a sportsbook's opening line or closing odds. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value or where sharp money is concentrated, though each reflects independent price discovery mechanisms.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order matching, where traders submit bids and asks for shares corresponding to each possible exact set score. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the marginal cost of buying or selling one more share, updated in real time as new orders arrive. Traders profit by correctly predicting the final score, and the platform's fee structure incentivizes tight spreads. Prices converge toward true probability as more capital enters the market and information becomes public.
This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once the Hurkacz vs Ofner match concludes and the final set score is verified against credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the exact number of sets won by each player in the completed match. No partial or disputed results will affect settlement; only the official final score counts. Resolution typically occurs within hours of match completion, allowing traders to see results quickly.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before the match begins. Injury announcements or withdrawal news involving either player would trigger sharp repricing. Recent tournament results, head-to-head records, and surface preference (clay, hard court, grass) influence trader positioning. Weather forecasts and court conditions closer to match day may also move prices. Betting syndicate activity and sharp money flowing into specific score outcomes can signal where informed traders see value, prompting broader market adjustments.
