The market resolves to Yes for the outcome matching the final set score of the completed match. Possible outcomes include Hurkacz winning 2-0, Hurkacz winning 2-1, Altmaier winning 2-1, or Altmaier winning 2-0. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one aggregate genuine trader belief through financial stakes. This market's odds may move faster or differently than traditional sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges closer to the match. Comparing the two can reveal where the broader betting public and informed traders disagree on the likely exact score outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders directly buy and sell shares representing each possible exact score. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the balance between buy and sell orders, with shares trading between 0 and 100 cents based on perceived probability. As match details, player form, or court conditions shift, traders adjust their positions, causing prices to move organically. This continuous price discovery ensures the market stays responsive to new information throughout the trading period.
This market resolves around Jun 17, 2026, once the Hurkacz versus Altmaier match concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact set score recorded at the end of the match—for example, 2–0, 2–1, or 1–2 in sets. No partial or disputed scores count; only the official, final scoreline triggers resolution. Traders holding shares in the correct exact-score outcome receive their payout once verification is complete.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before it resolves. Recent head-to-head records, current ranking and form, surface type and court conditions, and any injury or fitness updates will influence trader positioning. Pre-match commentary from analysts and betting syndicates may also spark repricing. As the match date approaches, odds typically tighten around the most likely outcomes. During the match itself, live developments—such as early set results or momentum swings—could trigger sharp moves if traders adjust their expectations in real time.
