If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct rules, fee structures, and user bases, which can create temporary price gaps. Kalshi and Polymarket may attract different trader demographics and risk appetites, leading to divergent probability assessments of the same match outcome. Liquidity depth also varies between venues; lower volume on one platform can amplify price swings relative to the other. Arbitrage traders often exploit these spreads, but friction costs and settlement timing differences can prevent instant convergence. Monitoring both platforms helps you identify when one is pricing the matchup more favorably than the other.
Several factors can shift odds before the match concludes. Recent form and head-to-head records between the two players often drive repricing as traders reassess win probability. Injury reports, court surface conditions, and weather at the venue can materially affect expectations. Tournament momentum—how each player performed in earlier rounds—typically influences market sentiment. News coverage, expert commentary, and betting activity on external sportsbooks may cascade into prediction market moves. Close to match time, live trading often accelerates as new information emerges and traders lock in final positions.
