Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, with prediction markets sometimes offering more favorable odds, especially when there's significant public disagreement with the sportsbook’s initial assessment. It’s common to see this market adjust rapidly to new information, potentially exceeding the speed of sportsbook adjustments, and providing a different view of likely outcomes.
