Frequently asked questions

On Kalshi, the Houston-Washington first 5 innings market dashboard displays real-time odds and price movement for outcomes tied to the early portion of this matchup. The interface tracks current market pricing, historical price trends, and trading activity to help you monitor how sentiment shifts as game time approaches. This dashboard gives traders visibility into liquidity and consensus positioning before the first pitch, enabling informed decision-making on how the contest may unfold during its opening frame.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit on accurate forecasts. This market aggregates the collective judgment of participants betting real capital, which can reveal insights sportsbooks may not immediately price in. Comparing the two can highlight where public perception and market-derived probability estimates diverge most sharply.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers that determine the current odds. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders can enter limit or market orders to position themselves on their preferred outcome, and the spread between bid and ask reflects the market's current uncertainty and liquidity depth. As new information emerges or trading volume shifts, prices adjust in real time to balance supply and demand among participants.

This market resolves around Jul 9, 2026, once the first five innings of the Houston-Washington game are complete and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be determined by the official score recorded at the end of the fifth inning, confirmed through standard sports reporting channels. Resolution timing depends on game pace and any delays, but the market will settle as soon as the inning concludes and the result is publicly available.

Several factors can shift odds before this market closes. Injury announcements or roster changes to either team's lineup or pitching staff may alter win probability significantly. Weather conditions at game time, recent team performance trends, and head-to-head matchup history all influence trader positioning. Breaking news about player availability, umpire assignments, or other game-day developments can trigger sharp price moves. As the start time nears, late-arriving information and shifts in trading volume often accelerate volatility in early-inning markets.
