This event group covers a single MLS match between Houston Dynamo and D.C. United SC scheduled for July 22, 2026 at 8:30 PM ET, with markets predicting which team will score first. The core question is identical across platforms: determining the first-scoring team within a defined time window.
In the upcoming match between Houston Dynamo and D.C. United SC, scheduled for July 22, 2026 at 8:30 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Houston Dynamo" if Houston Dynamo are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "D.C. United SC" if D.C. United SC are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
The market resolves based on which team records the first goal during the entire Houston Dynamo vs DC United professional MLS soccer game originally scheduled for July 22, 2026, including regulation, stoppage time, and any extra time periods. If the first goal of the match is an own goal, resolution is based on the team awarded the goal by the referee. The "No Goal" outcome resolves to Yes if the match ends without any team scoring.
Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi operate on peer-to-peer trading rather than fixed sportsbook lines. Traders buy and sell shares representing outcomes, and prices emerge from supply and demand rather than a bookmaker's margin. This often produces sharper, more efficient odds than traditional sportsbooks because traders have direct financial incentive to price accurately. Sportsbooks, by contrast, build in a margin and may adjust lines based on liability management. Over time, prediction market prices tend to reflect genuine probability more closely, making them valuable for comparing against conventional betting lines.
Team news—injuries to key forwards, lineup announcements, or tactical shifts—can significantly shift odds. Recent form, head-to-head records, and home-field advantage also influence trader sentiment. Weather conditions and pitch quality on match day may favor attacking or defensive play. Major betting syndicates or sharp money entering the market can trigger rapid repricing. Live action during the match itself, such as early chances, fouls, or substitutions, will drive continuous price movement as traders update their expectations in real time.
