Often, prediction market odds can differ from those offered by sportsbooks, reflecting the ‘wisdom of the crowd’ versus a sportsbook’s internal modeling. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, the prediction market may move in the opposite direction. Monitoring these factors can help traders identify potential opportunities in this market.
