Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If there's disagreement between the two, arbitrage opportunities may arise, as traders attempt to profit from the difference. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket and sportsbook lines often converge as more information becomes available and public sentiment solidifies. It's important to compare both to get a comprehensive view.
On Polymarket, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome.
