This event group tracks the outcome of the NPB baseball game between Hiroshima Carp and Yokohama BayStars scheduled for August 26 at 5:00AM ET. The resolution depends on which team wins the game, with specific rules for ties, cancellations, and postponements.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for August 26 at 5:00AM ET: If the Hiroshima Carp win, the market will resolve to "Hiroshima Carp". If the Yokohama BayStars win, the market will resolve to "Yokohama BayStars". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves based on the result of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars vs Hiroshima Toyo Carp Japan NPB game originally scheduled for August 26, 2026, at 5:00 AM EDT. If Yokohama DeNA BayStars wins, their market resolves to Yes, and Hiroshima Toyo Carp's market resolves to No, and vice versa. If the game ends in a tie, both markets resolve to 50/50. Should the game be postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes, provided it occurs within two days of the original date. If the game is cancelled or rescheduled to more than two days after the original date, the market resolves to a fair price. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can vary because of differences in user bases, liquidity, and trading activity. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, one platform might attract more local fans, skewing its odds toward a favored team, while the other could reflect a more global, neutral audience. Liquidity levels also play a role—a deeper market with higher volume tends to stabilize prices, whereas thinner markets see wider swings. Moreover, each platform’s unique trading interface and fee structure can influence how users place bets, further divergence between the two venues.
Injuries to key players, pitching rotations, weather delays, and recent performance trends could all shift this market. Any update that changes the perceived likelihood of a victory for either side may cause odds to adjust rapidly. Traders will also watch for lineup announcements and bullpen updates, as these practical factors often influence late-game dynamics in close contests.
