Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market relies on individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that the market perceives information differently, or that one is mispricing the event. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived through different mechanisms.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is therefore determined by supply and demand, driven by the insights and predictions of all participants trading on Polymarket.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
